32 Truckers A Day

32 Truckers A Day is the first 501c3 organization founded and ran completely by all females that focuses on nothing but the mental health and wellness of the trucker and their families. We also give 100% of all proceeds donated back into the trucking community. We keep nothing and completely volunteer all of our time. This organization was started by Candace, Lisa, & Lilly to raise awareness to the 32 drivers a day who contemplate or carry out the act of suicide a day. While we know we can not make this number zero we will do everything in our power to help eliminate the minor problems and speed bumps that life throws at us to test us daily. Such as no food, no shower credits, being stranded by companies after termination, etc.

Beyond the Obstacle

At 32 Truckers A Day we heard and seen the statistics for the need to have a organization that can raise awareness to the mental health of drivers and also their family members we know how hard leaving home is as well as the daily hustle and bustle out on the highway and we know that there needs to be an outreach so that every driver never feels alone nor do their family members. How do we know what leaving is like and life on the highway one might ask? Well, we all three are very active in the trucking industry from multiple stand points. Candace was a team driver with her spouse until medically she had her license pulled and is now a fulltime rider, she has been in the industry 10 years where she started as a school bus driver and went to a dump truck driver and then a OTR driver. Lisa is a team driver with her husband when need be and also has run their trucking company from home for the past 20+ years making sure loads are secured, permits are kept up to date, funding is available for fuel and breakdowns and what not while he is out on the road, as well as all of the other business side of the company is handled. Lilly is a full-time truck driver hauling the reefer side of the industry and has also owned her company of multiple trucks and has been in the industry for over 20 years. She understands the leaving home side of the industry as she is a single mom to teens and has even had her kids on the road homeschooling out of the truck. Together between the 3 there’s 50+ years of experience in different sides of the job.

Candace Shifflett

President

Hello my name is Candace I am 34 years old and I am a truckers wife to be. I am a momma to 4 beautiful babies who are my pride and joy- 3 boys and 1 girl! I started 32 Truckers A Day because I seen first hand the daily struggles of the industry and knew there needed to be a change and a voice for all 3.5 million drivers in America. I wanted something that could be in place for a non crisis situation to where drivers could call and know someone will always listen and they are NEVER alone! It soon became an idea that I knew I would need help with so I reached put to a few trusted individuals that would take this issue with as much care and passion as I did! When getting the diagnosis of terminal brain cancer I wanted this to be a lasting impact and knew these ladies would push forward just as much as I have tried to do and keep this going so that drivers new and old would always have the help and voice for years and years to come. I enjoy anything that involves family time, the beach, makeup, and music is my favorite kind of therapy! I am by far perfect and have a past as most do but I learned from my mistakes and know that they had made me the person I am today and honestly I wouldn’t change them because I firmly believe if I where to change them I wouldn’t be me! I am a warrior of DV and will always advocate for those who believe that they don’t have a voice! You also may hear me called peterbilt princess as that’s my name on all social media platforms!

Never forget you are loved, worthy, valued, needed, important and you freaking matter

Lilly Rodriguez

Treasurer/ Merch Production Manager

Hey guys I’m Lilly Rodriguez. I am a full time truck driver from Florida and single momma to twins, an older daughter and 3 angel babies! I have a granddaughter and I love family time! I work on the reefer side of the industry and haul plants and cold food. When I was approached and ask to be a element of this dynamic trio I didn’t even hesitate as I have dealt with my own mental health problems out here on the road. I am the type of person that will give you the hard truth of advice and I hate to hurt feeling but I would rather know that I definitely didnt sugar coat anything to give you the wrong advice. For the simple reason that I would want the same in return. I am no professional be any means and my advice is given solely on what may have worked for me in similar situations.

Mental Health is something I don’t joke about because as a part of this organization I have seen just how bad it is. I have dealt with my own demons and they have made who I am today and honest I’m not to sure that I would change the growth I have had in myself.

Outside of trucking i enjoy family time, crafting, making sure my truck is shining and shopping. I also am the producer of all of the merchandise that 32 Truckers A Day has and I am privileged to be the only one authorized to make that! Crafting is a huge hobby of mine that I work hard to produce my best merchandise! If you want something done that you don’t see I have already made shoot me a message and I will definitely do my best to make sure I can get it done.

I can be found on social media as jayleez designs which is the name of my company!
